Lauren has decided this spring to play softball instead of soccer! Here are pictures of the opening day of baseball and softball. They had a parade and all sorts of activities for the kids to do! It was very chilly and wet but the day was still fun for the kids. Lauren has decided that she likes softball better than soccer. She doesn't have to run as much!! She wants to try her hand at being catcher but so far she has been willing to try all the positions and is doing pretty well for never playing before!

Meet Miley
After the kids and I returned from our trip to Kalamazoo, we found this little thing at our house. She seemed to think our house would make a grand new home and has decided to adopt us. We still aren't sure if she is going to stay or not but it's been fun for the kids to play with her. Lauren has a lot of responsibilities for the dog while we figure things out. She even named the dog Miley from Hannah Montana. Mad has really bonded with Miley and loves to hang out with her. Ryan really likes to look at her, but doesn't care for Miley to look at him! He knows just how far her leash will go and stays near her without her actually touching him. It's really pretty funny to watch! Anyway, here are some pics of Miley.
Birthday Girl!!!
Maddie has been waiting forever for her birthday. She discovered that she now has to use two hands to show how old she is and she thinks that is super cool!! Though she is easy going and laid back, waiting for her birthday to come was hard work! Mad's favorite show to watch is Max and Ruby so she wanted me to make a Ruby cake. (Ruby is a bunny if that helps!) The cake actually turned out really cute! Her birthday celebrations started on Sunday and went until Thursday. She was excited to get to celebrate it all week long. Mad was able to go on her own birthday date with Grandma and Grandpa Buckner and go buy her own presents with them. She thought she was pretty big stuff to go and pick out "whatever she wanted"! How easy it is to please her!! I hope it always stays that way. She had a party at school where she shares her birthday with two classmates. What are the odds? Then she was very excited that the UPS man was bringing her her own packages! All in all she LOVED her birthday and had a great time celebrating it over and over and over again!!!

Mad's Field Trip
The kindergarten went on a multiple destination field trip. They have been studying communities and wrapped up the unit on a tour of Speedway. They went to the police station, fire station, library, visited the different schools and parks, then ended up at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. There were even cars going around for the kids to see.....and hear! The kids were super excited to get to see cars going around the track. They went on a bus tour of the track too. It was a long day but a fun day too. I have never been on a field trip with multiple destinations before!! It was fun to see Mad with all her friends too.
Up Up and Away!!
Each year the third grade classes have a kite flying day. This was a great day for it. The sun was out and there was a good breeze for the kites. The kids had a blast flying their kites. Some kids even flew kites they made themselves!! It was fun to watch them all try to keep their kites in the air. We only lost two in the trees!
Spring Break--Part 2
For the last part of our week, the kids and I headed up to Kalamazoo, MI to visit good friends of ours. The kids enjoyed the mini vacation and we all had fun. While in Michigan, we visited a bird sanctuary and the kids got to feed the birds. That was so much fun....until the geese started chasing us!! We also visited a Dairy Farm there and the kids enjoyed watching the cows being milked! The girls tried on the milking machine! Great blackmail pictures....It was great to see Jenny and Ken and visit with them. It was a quick trip but full of fun and adventures!
Spring Break--Part 1
I have found for all of us to survive days off, it's best if we keep busy! So each day of Spring Break we had a new adventure(s) to do! On the first day we went to a park in Avon that was really fun. We went hiking in the woods there too. After that we went to Jump and Play. I couldn't believe they had Ryan going down the huge slide!! On Tuesday we went to Chuck E Cheese, out to eat with GMA & GPA Buckner, then went back to their hot tub. Wednesday brought us to the zoo with GMA Speer and then much needed quiet time! The kids enjoyed keeping busy and we all had fun!
