Easter Sunday

Here are the kids in their Easter outfits. They were pretty well behaved all day even with all the sugar!! The girls received Webkinz bunnies which they couldn't wait to get on-line and play with them. Ryan received a dog and a chick that walks around. (Plus the standard candy and knick-knack stuff!) We sure had a busy weekend but we spent it with family which is the best busy to have! We love times to share with our families!

On Your Mark...Get Set....GO....

This year we have MANY egg hunts but the kids love each one just the same! We had the one at the park a few weeks ago, one at church, the annual Buckner hunt, and one at Grandma Speer's house. It is always a site to see all the many grandkids scatter and gather eggs at Grandma and Grandpa Buckners!! The church hunt was VERY busy and harder to get many eggs. At Grandma and Grandpa Speer's each child had a specific color egg to hunt which made it easy to help each child find their eggs. The kids have a blast each time and help each other out. They are such caring kids....when they want to be!!!

Dying to Color Eggs!!

The kids really enjoyed coloring the eggs. The kit we had this year had a special crayon in it. First you colored on the egg with the crayon and when you dyed the egg the design came out. They had fun making pictures on the eggs. Ryan was so impressed with the eggs turning colors!! He thought it was so cool. Mad did a good job and didn't break a single one. Lauren, the artist, spent a lot of time on her designs but they were nice.

High School Musical

Lauren and Emma have been great buds since kindergarten. Emma's Mom and I decided to surprise the girls and take them on a mystery date. It drove Lauren NUTS not knowing where we were going or what we were doing. We took the girls to Applebee's first and tried to tell them that was the date but they weren't buying it! We then just drove around downtown for awhile. When we turned and the girls saw the High School Musical Live sign they got real quiet. Then when we turned into the parking lot they went CRAZY!! It was a fantastic show. Even the moms have a great time!! It was a super fun night and the girls LOVED it!!

Meadowood Egg Hunt

The egg hunt at the park was cold this year but still warmer than last year! The kids had a good time and found a lot of eggs. Each won some prizes and Lauren won a HUGE Easter basket full of goodies! She was super excited!!! The kids are all in different areas for the hunt which made it tricky on Mom and Dad, but we all had fun. It's become a fun tradition for us.

Spring Has Sprung!!!!

Finally some warm weather!!! We took advantage of the fantastic weather and had our first picnic lunch of the season! Our neighbor Lindsey came over for the picnic also. Ryan also worked on skating....one of his favorite things to do outside. The kids also played on the swingset. It was a super great day. We have waited a LONG time for some good warm weather!!

We Start Training Young!!

Ryan loves his "mow-mow". He got this new one for his birthday and couldn't wait to use it. He didn't let a little snow get in his way! Though many passing people teased me on teaching him young how to mow the grass! He stayed out there for a long while mowing the snow.

Snow Snow Snow....

We haven't had too many snows that were snowmen quality this year!! Madeline and her friend Lindsey were finally able to make a snowman!! Lindsey is our neighbor down the street and Madeline has enjoyed finally having someone her age to play with! The girls are in school together and get together to play during the week also. Here was a great time in the snow. It was a lot of hard work but they finally were able to build a great little snowman!

Yippie Ryan is Three!!!!

Ryan is obsessed with garbage trucks! He loves to sit on the front porch and watch the trucks come and go. We have 2-3 trucks come by each trash day! When it's not cold, he and I drink our "coffee" and watch the trucks go by. For his birthday he wanted a trash truck cake. Not too many suggestions out there for trash truck cakes. I found this pattern on the Internet. He LOVED his trash truck cake!!! We had a his party this weekend and had some trash truck cake. It was pretty good too!!

He also received a race car power wheels that he loves driving around. He isn't the best at steering but he loves to make it go!! Looks as if he is saying, "Get out of my way Mom!".

Honest Abe

Every month Lauren has a book report to do. Each month she has to do something different. In February, she was to choose a famous American. She chose Abe Lincoln because he and I have the same birthday! Isn't she sweet? She did have some words that she had a hard time remembering, but she did a wonderful job and her classmates loved her costume! We have enjoyed doing her book reports this year. Each month has a new adventure which makes the boring book reports of my day look really lame!

Bye Bye Diapers!!!

Ryan is now potty trained!! He has wanted nothing to do with the process. The little girl that I watch was starting to potty train so I decided that Ryan was going to do it whether he wanted to or not. The first day was tough!! He didn't want to do it and could care less if he went through eight pairs of underwear in one day. Then, on the second day, he realized that this was really going to happen so he decided to get on board. Now, he is doing great!!! We have already moved the potty chair downstairs as he is using the big potty all the time!

I have enjoyed viewing everyone else's blogs, so I thought I would give it a try also. I'll start with this picture the kids sent out to people on Valentine's day. It was a fun idea and the kids enjoyed working on it too! Lauren has recently cut her hair shorter and is loving the ease of shorter hair! Madeline's bangs have now grown out and she has recently had her hair cut too! Ryan is finally getting enough hair to have bad hair days!!! I hope you will enjoy reading about the kids this way. We all know how long it takes me to get around to developing my pictures! This way you can check in when you want to and not have to wait around for me!!!
